EPA: Accessing Laboratory Support
8/14/2017
EPA has a new interactive training resource to provide water utilities, laboratories and emergency responders with a means of receiving laboratory support during emergencies involving water contamination. The resource presents example scenarios, tips and a 1-page summary document that users can save as a reference sheet.
Accessing Laboratory Support discusses how to obtain assistance at the local, state, regional and federal levels. These methods include utilizing Water/Wastewater Agency Response Networks (WARNs), which are local mutual aid networks of utilities helping utilities to respond to and recover from emergencies, and accessing the Compendium of Environmental Testing Laboratories, a national database of laboratories and their capabilities.
